Ten years ago, when a friend introduced the newest technology over cyberspace, It was like magic in one swift moving and clicking the mouse to open everything one over the other topics anywhere. The virtual convenience was far different from snail mails and book libraries. From reading articles, product introduction all over the world was made aware online and to meet-chat online people everywhere in the world was a click away. I was a self-confessed internet junkie every night chatting new people and maintained a few friendships over love. Two of these chats became intimate in one time for over a year and some days, but did not last long as it was not meant to be mutual and compatible though the long flights he endured was much appreciated, the later meet-ups was not for keeps. Choosing virtual love to develop in this cyberworld is inevitable when one is lonely and in need to satisfy the emotional trysts.
Quote from some LongDistanceRelationship people:
" have been in this situation and it wasn't successful.my (ex)boyfriend went to Australia because he was petitioned by his mom. he promised me he'll be home in six months so we can celebrate our birthdays together. turns out he needed to stay longer than that so he can get the Aussie citizenship. i asked him how long it's gonna take and he answered "i dont know." we celebrated our birthdays and anniversary just talking on the phone. after that, communication became scarce and i fell out of love. we broke up 6 months after. it was painful but i had to end it.now that i have a new boyfriend, i always tell him my dilemma about LDRs. i dont want him to go abroad while we're still on a relationship so i reminded him agad that it's either he stays in the country or we break up before he leaves. i dont want to undergo that same situation again."
And Another:
"LDR works for some people, but it's not for me. i admire those people who have the patience, trust, love and understanding to survive such arrangement"
Still, people all over the world is taking this second chance like lottery, if not all wins.
